 Our BJB Paint Horse Farm is located on Highway 31, one mile east of Bokoshe in LeFlore County Oklahoma. Bokoshe is an Indian name meaning “Two Rivers”. The Poteau & Arkansas River meet not far from here where the Spiro Mounds Indians used to live. There are prehistoric Indian mounds with evidence of their 850 A.D. to 1450 A.D. culture. The mounds at Spiro, Oklahoma, are among the most important archaeological remains in the United States. A remarkable assemblage of artifacts from the mounds shows that prehistoric Spiro people created a sophisticated culture, which influenced the entire Southeast.
We have a perfect view of Cavanal, the world’s largest hill. Towering over the town of Poteau in LeFlore County, Cavanal Hill is the area’s most prominent and visible landmark. But even though it boasts a lofty 1,999-foot elevation, Cavanal falls one foot short of mountain status.
We have a stable of thirty registered APHA and AQHA brood mares. Tobiano’s, Overo’s, Tovero’s and Solids all from different linage and excellent bloodlines. Our mares have varying ranges of height, colors and conformation. Some have brown eyes while others have partial blue or full blue eyes. All of our mares have a sweet gentle disposition.
Our Stallion, “Lucky’s Best Yet,” APHA registration #428,204 is a certified 1998 model and an eligible sire for breeding. He is a Black and White Tovero with a beautiful baby blue right eye. Weighing over thirteen hundred pounds of solid rippling muscle and large jaw muscles. He is not only beautiful but is a gentleman with a good disposition. Lucky has been tested, homozygous for black pigment (EE). He cannot have red foals regardless of the color of the mate. The basic color of his offspring will be black, bay, or brown, but depending on other genes may be buckskin, zebra dun, grulla, perlino, gray, white or any of these colors with the white hair pattern tobiano, overo, roan or appaloosa. Our stallion carries both overo and tobiano genes. He has a great pedigree and a superb conformation. We do not breed outside mares however his stud colts and fillies are for sale.
